The farmhouse
La Liccia farmhouse has a very nice location at the bottom of a white road that leads out of a little village. It stands opposite a wood and is surrounded by cultivated fields. Its construction dates back to 1845 and it is a classic example of the ‘cube’ home typical of the Umbrian countryside. The ground floor was originally the stables and also included a large bread oven that was often used by the whole neighbourhood. The external staircase led to the first floor, the farmer's family living quarters, which was subdivided into four rooms, one of which had a large fireplace, the only source of heating in the building. In restoring the house, its original character has been respected, and recovered materials have been used.
The apartment
The spacious rental apartment is on the first floor (up the stairs). Each room has exposed ceiling beams, the fireplace has been restored in the same place where it was originally located, and some of the walls have been left in bare brick, creating a pleasant contrast with the period furniture chosen by the owners. Fully furnished, the accommodation comprises two bedrooms, each with a bathroom; the kitchen; a sitting/dining room. The house also has a library, with books in English language too and children books, available to guests.
The garden
Still facing the building today is a majestic hundred-year-old oak tree with a trunk circumference of nearly four metres. Around the property is a garden of nearly 2,000 m2 .....
.... with plenty of high-stemmed plants, and with shrubs, flowers and above all antique roses. In the area of the garden reserved for guests, there are tables, chairs, sun loungers and full barbecue equipment.
We are surrounded by cultivated fields and sometimes we can hear farm vehicles working - but that's the countryside!
At the end of September the hunting season begins. During the season, hunting will be allowed for three days a week, to be chosen by the hunter, with the obligatory exception of Tuesdays and Fridays.
Facilities:
TV, hairdryer, freezer, microwave, kettle, radio, toaster. Washing machine available. Iron and ironing board.

Electricity included in the rate. Working fireplace. Gardens for guests' use (with tables, chairs, deck-chairs, sun-beds, BBQ, kitchen garden)

Children welcome - Cot, High chair
Pets accepted by arrangement. (We already have a couple of cats in the garden...)
